Buick Enclave Compared to The Buick Envision

For the scope of this article, the 2022 Buick Enclave will be compared with the 2021 Buick Envision. Compared to luxury rivals Mercedes-Benz and BMW, GM brand Buick is relatively less flashy, but is upscale enough to appeal to the well-heeled. While the Buick Enclave comes with three rows of seats, the Envision is available with two rows. Both vehicles come with sunroofs.

Exterior Appearance:

The 2021 Buick Envision has recently got a redesign, which makes it far more attractive than before. It now looks sportier, with a front appearance somewhat like a Mercedes AMG. It is now longer and wider than its previous versions. Despite the Enclave getting a facelift for the 2022 version, it still does not quite ooze the visual appeal of the all-new Envision. However, those who love cargo and passenger space will like its size and well-designed proportions.

Engine Specifications:

The Enclave, being a larger SUV, gets a more powerful 3.6 liter V6 engine as compared to the 2021 Buick Envision. Although it is not the most powerful SUV engine around, no individual driving this vehicle will complain about lack of power, which is a healthy 310 hp. Compared to this, the 2021 Envision will get a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 228 hp of maximum power. The bigger vehicle gets more torque in this case. Both engines are mated to 9-speed automatic transmission gearboxes. FWD (Front Wheel Drive) as standard and AWD (All Wheel Drive) as options are present in both vehicles.

Interior Appearance:

Several comfort and convenience features have been included in the 2022 Buick Enclave, which is already as roomy as seen from outside. Although features for the cabin of this version haven’t been officially released yet, it is expected to be similar to the outgoing model. Practicality and handsomeness are two virtues that can be easily seen here. The passenger side second row seat slides forward to let third row passengers sit. A massive amount of cargo space is available in this vehicle. In terms of infotainment, expect to see the 8.0 inch IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system. Two USB ports for charging devices are available for each row.

The base trim on the 2021 Buick Envision, known as Preferred, gets an 8.0 inch touchscreen unit while Avenir and Essence trims get a 10.2 inch unit each.  The interiors here look snazzier than the Enclave. Quilted leather upholstery ventilated, and heated front seats and a massaging driver’s seat are available in this vehicle. Cargo space is lesser than the Enclave on account of smaller dimensions.

Although Essence trim buyers get standard 7-speaker systems, they can purchase the Technology Package for an upgrade to a 9-speaker Bose audio system.

Safety Features:

The 2022 Buick Enclave gets a lot of space for child seats, along with standard safety features, much of which are driver assistance technologies. Here is a list of safety features:

  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Automatic High Beam Headlamps
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Blind Spot Monitor
  • Cross Traffic Alert

The same safety features are also being offered on the 2021 Buick Envision. However, Automatic Parking has been made available in the Envision and not on the Enclave. Similarly, HUD (Heads Up Display is available only on the Envision.
